TWO WEEKS UNTIL  SUBMISSION

River Biodiversity Union (RBU)

What do they do?

The River Biodiversity Union is a collective of people who share the wish to be able to co-exist and co-design with non-human animals. As beavers turn out to be experts in building and creating a rich biodiverse environment, the collective is specifically focussing on them and attempting to create a dialogue in order to design the river and waterfront together.

The RBU has created several protocols to try to make sure that humans and beavers have a way to communicate their agreements or disagreements and make rules for their co-working relationship.

Because of the River Biodiversity Union being interdisciplinary, several different kinds of experts have to be present in the Union. This group of people would range from designers to politicians to citizens from the neighbourhood. Because some people should have more influence because of their broader knowledge on the matter, the ecologists and beaver experts have a right to vote veto.

The River Biodiversity Union will come together each month to discuss and analyse the current situations. If any alterations need to be made in one of the protocols, this also has to be discussed in these meetings.
